| Sea Tel's 98S DBS/DTH Series currently has two models in its ranks: the Model 1898S, for ships 30 ft and up, and the Model 2498S for ships 50 ft and up. Both systems boast full stabilization in rough seas, high performance, CONSCAN tracking, marine durability and ultra-quiet operation. Both systems, when properly mounted, receive minimal to no interference from the sailboat's rigging, and will still deliver a perfect picture even when the dish is partially obstructed by the mast. The only difference between the two Sea Tel systems is that the Model 2498S's larger dish size will allow for a greater coverage area of the desired satellite TV signal while out at sea and will have less attenuation due to rain, fog, snow and ice. | |||||||||||||||

 These
models consist of a stabilized 24-48 inch diameter antenna enclosed in
an attractive radome and an antenna control unit. The active antenna
stabilizer electronically senses the yacht's motion and compensates -
assuring a clear and reliable signal. The antenna control unit provides
the operation interface to the system and communication with the antenna
system via RS 422. Sea Tel DBS/DTH
systems work with all satellite receivers in the US, Caribbean and
Mediterranean. In the US, the digital satellite receiver includes the
access card to receive and decode the digital satellite programming and
provides easy to understand, on-screen programming guides. The satellite
receiver's remote control is used to navigate through the on-screen
display. For those yachts with more than one television set, all Sea Tel
DBS/DTH systems easily accommodate additional DBS/DTH satellite
receivers. This allows each TV-viewer on-board to watch the show of
their choice without concern for what others might watch elsewhere in
the ship.

tracking with Sea Tel's superior three axis, solid state stabilization

antenna for satellite TV-at-Sea available anywhere. Sea Tel's Model 1898S
is unique in its versatility in the USA and in Europe (Model 1898E). In
the US the Model 1898S, using circular polarization, works equally well
with DIRECTV ® , USSB ® and Dish Network ® . In Europe the Model 1898E,
using linear polarization, receives all the new digital services from
Astra and Eutelsat. In addition, the Model 1898S will receive digital
programming services in Japan, Korea, Asia-Pacific, and all the new
high-powered satellite services being introduced around the world.
Programming choices with the Model 1898S and Model 1898E are tremendous.
Mariners in the US can select hundreds of channels of TV programming and
digital music including HBO, CNN, ESPN, professional and college sports,
Bloomberg, movies, the Weather Channel and much, much more. In Europe the
selection includes all the new digital services from Astra (Sky) and
Eutelsat. Sea Tel's Model 1898S gives the smaller boat owner the chance to
watch his or her favorite TV, sports, movies and news programming whether
the boat is anchored or underway in rough weather and adverse sea
conditions. The Model 1898S features an attractive above decks radome
measuring 21 inches high and 20 inches in diameter. The antenna dish is 18
inches in diameter. The above deck unit weighs 33 lb. Below decks, the
Model 1898S connects to 12 volt DC current and features only a small (3x5)
panel-mounted control unit for operating the system.
